Asbury Christian Counseling Center History

Ten years ago God placed a vision in the hearts of Pastor Alan Weatherly and church leadership to start a counseling center to serve Asbury United Methodist Church and the community. Consistent with Christ’s message of healing, serving, redeeming and restoring, the Asbury Child and Family Counseling Center exists to offer hope and help through trained mental health professionals who are committed Christians. Church membership is not a requirement and individuals are accepted for treatment wherever they are in their faith/beliefs. The Asbury Counseling Center is a ministry supported by Asbury United Methodist Church, Inc. The Asbury Counseling Center is a 501-3C independent corporation.

“Just as you trusted Christ to save you, trust Him, too, for each day’s problems. Live in vital union with Him.” Colossians 2:6-7

Statement of Faith

While each of us holds fast to additional beliefs important to our relationship with God, the following statement outlines the tenets that provide a foundation for our fellowship and participation at the Asbury Counseling Center.

We Believe: In the divine inspiration and final authority of the Bible as the Word of God; in the eternal God revealed in Holy Scripture as Father, Son and Holy Spirit; in the unique deity of Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, whose death and resurrection provide grace through faith, the only means of salvation; in the transforming presence and power of the Holy Spirit.
