Charlotte Baldwin, EdS, LPC, and Director of the Asbury Counseling Center, has over thirty years of experience as a psychotherapist. She is a licensed professional counselor who works with children, adolescents and adults. She was trained in the counseling psychology Ph.D. program at the University of Florida.
Ms. Baldwin specializes in a Christian approach to parenting issues, childhood and adolescent behavioral difficulties, and adult relationship problems, in or outside the context of marriage. She also has extensive experience in helping individuals cope with child abuse, depression, anxiety, codependency and grief. Her deep spirituality and relationship with God are the foundation for the healing she provides in the counseling setting.
Ms. Baldwin is skilled in addressing a full range of mental and behavioral health concerns for clients of all ages. She has extensive training in play therapy and a strong reputation for effectively working with children. She also works with adolescents, couples, individuals and families. She has led DivorceCare 4 Kids groups, Social Skills for Kids groups for children diagnosed with Asperger's Disorder and ADHD, and support groups for parents of challenging children.
Before serving as the director of the Asbury Counseling Center for 16 years, Mrs. Baldwin was the clinical supervisor for the National Children’s Advocacy Center in Huntsville, Alabama and the Executive Director for the Parent Aide Program in Gainesville, Florida. She co-authored INSIDE SCARS, a book about recovery from child sexual abuse, and has been a national speaker and trainer on this topic. She currently serves on the Advisory Committee for the Christian Women's Job Corps of Madison County, an organization dedicated to inspiring and empowering women toward self-sufficiency and equipping them with essential skills to improve their lives. She is also a member of the Association for Play Therapy.
Mrs. Baldwin has four adult children and currently lives in Madison with her husband.
Nancy De Haas Dunn, MA, LPC, graduated from seminary with a Master of Arts degree in Christian counseling with additional hours of doctorate-level coursework. She has been in private practice over twenty years and has eleven years of experience in school counseling.
She is a licensed professional counselor specializing in individual, marriage and family counseling. She works with couples in marriage counseling, and with parents and children experiencing relational difficulties. She also works in the areas of depression, anxiety, sexual abuse, grief and loss, divorce, codependency, and relational issues.
Nancy enjoys and has special interest in women’s issues, group therapy, and international work. She is committed to international mission trips where she speaks on child abuse awareness, protection from sexual abuse training and provides safety classes for children. In all areas of counseling, she believes counselors are called to be representatives of the heart of God; to join Him in bringing healing to the wounded and broken areas of people’s lives so they receive the promises of God for their lives and fulfill their God given destinies. She is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors.
Ashley Hoffman, Psy.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist. Dr. Hoffman graduated summa cum laude from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a Bachelor of Science degree in Honors Psychology. She then earned a Doctor of Psychology degree and Master of Science degree in Clinical Psychology at Florida Institute of Technology. Dr. Hoffman has previous experience working as a generalist with all ages in christian counseling private practice at Asbury Counseling Center, with college students in a university counseling center, in a children's clinic at a community mental health center, on an adult unit at an inpatient psychiatric hospital, on a family therapy treatment team, as the associate director of a sexual abuse treatment program, on a specialized Autism Spectrum Disorder treatment team performing evaluations and treatment, and as a field researcher for Pearson test company. She is a member of theAmerican Psychological Association and the National Register of Health Service Psychologists. She resides in Madison with her husband and two children.
